On behalf of the Scottish Government and DECC, we wish to invite you to a stakeholder workshop on the current DECC consultation into support for community energy projects under the Feed-in Tariffs Scheme. DECC will also be providing an update on its wider Community Energy work as well as developments relating to shared ownership.


The aim of the workshop is to seek Scotland’s community energy stakeholders’ views on the measures proposed in the consultation from. We hope this workshop will help you decide how you want to respond to the consultation. Your views and the evidence you provide will also form the basis of the Scottish Government’s formal response to the consultation.

Find all relevant consultation documentation here with a closing date for consultation responses on 7th July.

  • Part A sets out the background information and explains the importance of community energy and sets out the current financial support, costs and interdependency
  • Part B seeks views on proposals for increasing the maximum specified capacity ceiling for eligible community projects under the FITs scheme from 5MW to 10MW
  • Part C of the consultation looks at how DECC might change their policy to enable community energy groups to combine FITs and grants

The workshop will be led by DECC and hosted in partnership with Scottish Government, Local Energy Scotland and Community Energy Scotland.
